CATHERINE NANNIE BOONE

BAKERSVILLE - Catherine Nannie Boone, 97, of the Lily Branch 
community, died Saturday, May 24, 2003 in Spruce Pine Community 
Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Beatrice Fortner 
Conley, and wife of the late Charlie Boone. She was also preceded 
in death by a daughter, Jean Boone. She was a member of Lily Branch 
Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Jim Boone of Bakersville; one daughter, 
Junaita West of Chevy Chase, MD; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Monday in the Grindstaff Memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Rev. Steve Williams 
officiated. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Monday in Lily Branch 
Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 
the service hour Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be 
made to Hospice of Mitchell County, 284 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, 
NC 28777.
