MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Robert Boston, 28 Oct 2004

BAKERSVILLE - Robert Boston, 77, of Hamburg Road, died Thursday, Oct. 
28, 2004 at his home. He was the son of the late Robert and Ada Buchanan 
Boston. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Annabelle Gurley; a 
stepson, Billy Ray Carpenter; one grandson, Jason Boston; and three step-
grandchildren. He was a member of Lily Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Carpenter Boston of the home; one son, 
Jack Boston of Bakersville; three daughters, Wanda Owens and Judy Burleson, 
both of Bakersville, and Roberta Nanney of Marion; one stepson, Phillip 
Carpenter of Florida; two stepdaughters, Ruth Pittman and Marie Ledford, 
both of Spruce Pine; six grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Mike Rathbone and Larry Greene officiated. 
Burial was in Lily Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends 
from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Memorial donations 
may be made to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
