JOHNNY H. BOWERS
SPRUCE PINE - Johnny H. Bowers, 91, of Beaver Creek Road, died 
Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was 
the son of the late Murry and Lola Bowers, and husband of the 
late Beatrice Vance Bowers. A native of Carter County, TN, he 
worked for Newton Trucking in Kearny, NJ until moving to Spruce 
Pine after retirement.
Survivors include a sister, Lena Rockwell of Johnson City, TN; 
brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Frankie Zemanek of 
Minneapolis, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Grindstaff 
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.. Rev. Alvin 
C. Carpenter officiated. Burial was in Spruce Pine Memorial 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service 
hour Tuesday at the funeral home.
