VAUGHTIE MAE BURLESON

BAKERSVILLE - Vaughtie Mae Burleson, 74, of Marble Mine Road, died 
Saturday, Apr. 19, 2003 at her home. She was the daughter of the late 
Charlie and Hassie Thomas Johnson. She was also preceded in death by 
a sister, Mary Silvers; and brothers, Jess and Harvey Johnson. She was 
employed by Baxter Healthcare Incorporated, and was a member of Silver 
Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Frank L. Burleson of the home; daughters, 
Brenda Byrd of Johnson City, TN, and Linda Gouge and Glenda Buchanan, 
both of Bakersville; a son, Frankie Burleson of Burnsville; sisters, 
Elva Hoilman of Atlanta, GA, Pansy Upton of Bakersville; and Jean Travis 
of Kernersville; a brother, Lloyd Johnson of Green Mountain; eight 
grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Silver Chapel Baptist 
Church. Revs. J.J. Orr and Mark McKinney officiated. Burial followed in 
the church cemetery. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday 
at Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville.
