MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Cora Lee Burleson, 8 Aug 2004

SPRUCE PINE - Cora Lee Burleson, 81, of Forest Fisher Road, died 
Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004 at her home. She was the daughter of the late 
Coleman and Rhoda Pittman. She was also preceded in death by her 
sisters, Nora Godsey and Lucy Hopkins, and brothers, Jess and Johnny 
Pittman. She was a member of Ogden Baptist Church in Wilmington.

Survivors include her daughters, Jacque Hughes, and Deborah Beaver, 
both of Spruce Pine; a sister, Faye Howell of Spruce Pine; brothers, 
Jay Pittman of Mt. Holly, James Pittman of Charlotte, and Joe Pittman 
of Spruce Pine; five great grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Carmel Baptist 
Church. Revs. Dana Williams, Todd Ayers and Steve Williams officiated. 
Burial was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 4 
p.m. until the servie hour Tuesday at the church. Memorial donations 
may be made to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
