CLARA GREENLEE BURNETTE
MARION – Clara Greenlee Burnette, 91, of Hicks Chapel Road, died 
Sunday, June 30, 2002 at the home of her son. She was the daughter 
of the late Welzie and Maggie Loven Greenlee, and wife of the late 
Paul Burnette. She was also preceded in death by a son, Arthur Guy 
Burnette. A homemaker, she was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist 
Church for many years, but later became a member of Faith Freewill 
Baptist Church in Black Mountain.
Survivors include two sons, Harry J Burnette of Marion, and Ted R. 
Burnette of Kingston, TN; one daughter-in-law, Wilma Mace Burnette 
of Spruce Pine; two sisters, Nuree Burnette of Hudson, FL, and Jewel 
Haynes of Marion; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and four 
great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Grindstaff 
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Jr. Briggs 
and Clifford Early officiated. Burial was in Burnette Cemetery. The 
family received friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
