MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Nervia Byrd, 4 Mar 2004

GREEN MOUNTAIN - Nervia Byrd, 89, off Cow Branch Road, died Thursday, 
Mar. 4, 2004 at Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the daughter 
of the late Grant and Ida Byrd Burleson, and wife of the late Jason 
Byrd. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Iris Byrd Thomas. 
She attended Red Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Grant Burleson of Johnson City, TN; one 
grandchild; and one great grandchild. 
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Mar. 6 in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Charles Willis and Randy 
Wise officiated. Burial was in Red Hill Cemetery. The family received 
friends from 3 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
