CARVER JONESBOROUGH, TN - Margie M. Carver, 81, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the home of her daughter. Born in Bakersville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mamie Boone Howell, and wife of the late Dan Carver. She was also preceded in death by two children, Orbin Carver and Sarah Jo Carver; three brothers, Lloyd, Charles and Earnest Howell; and a sister, Dorothy Norman. She was a homemaker and long-time member of Embreeville Church of Christ in Embreeville, Tenn. Survivors include four sons, Roby, Brooks, Jeff and John Carver, all of Jonesborough, Tenn.; three daughters, Lou Ann Weller and Mamie Ratliff, both of Jonesborough, and Sylvia Gregg of Johnson City, Tenn.; three brothers, Gordon Howell of Spruce Pine, Roy Howell of Little Rock, Ark., and Ben Ray Howell, Bakersville; two sisters, Shelby Jean McMahan of Asheville, and Myrtle Walker of Johnson City; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Friday at Embreeville Church of Christ. The Rev. Scott Phillips officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rebels Creek Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Friday at the church. Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services assisted the family.
