FREDERICK C. COINER JR. 

SPRUCE PINE - Frederick C. (Fred) Coiner Jr., 84, also of Lake Placid, Fla., 
died Monday, Jan. 8, 2006 at his home in Lake Placid. He was the son of the 
late Beatrice and Fred Coiner Sr. He was also preceded in death by a son, 
Michael Coiner; and two brothers, Bob L. and Charles P. Coiner. He was a 
retired U.S. Air Force sergeant with 26 years of service, and served as a tour 
escort for the Kennedy Space Center for 13 years. He was a member of First 
Baptist Church in Lake Placid and Grassy Creek Baptist Church in Spruce Pine. 
He was also a life member of the D.A.V. and NCOA, American Legion in 
Titusville, and the Masonic Lodge in Mobile, Ala.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Dunty Coiner of the home; and 
two sisters, Beatrice Copen of Charleston, WV, and Carolyn Irvin of St. 
Petersburg, Fla. 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Michael A. Brochetti 
Funeral Home in Lake Placid. Rev. Ray Cameron officiated. Burial followed in 
Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors. The family received friends from 
6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to ARC-
