LEWIS G. CROWDER 

SPRUCE PINE - Lewis G. Crowder, 77, of Ridge Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 
2006. He was the son of the late Ernest and Dorothy Thomas Crowder. He was 
also preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Still. He was self-employed in the 
heating and plumbing business. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, and 
Past Master of Vesper Masonic Lodge #554 in Spruce Pine.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Crowder of the home; a son, Gary Crowder 
of Spruce Pine; sisters, Lydia Banks of Nebo, Lona Cable and Lela Singleton, 
both of Spruce Pine, and Lessie Eaton of Concord; brothers, Lance Crowder of 
Charlotte, and Leonard and Lennie Crowder, both of Spruce Pine; two 
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Alvin Carpenter officiated. Burial followed in 
Wilson Cemetery on White Oak Road. The family received friends from 1 p.m. 
until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home.
