MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Pearl Calhoun, 6 Oct 2003

PEARL CALHOUN

ROAN MOUNTAIN, TN - Pearl Calhoun, 93, died Monday, 
Oct. 6, 2003 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton, 
TN. A native of Carter County, TN, she was the daughter 
of the late Clayton and Matilda Street Harrell, and wife 
of the late James Calhoun. She was a retired school 
teacher and a member of Cove Creek Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert Calhoun of Bakersville; 
a sister, Maude Christian of Elizabethton, TN; two 
grandsons; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 
chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. 
Rev. Roger Laws officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Thursday 
in Garland Parker Cemetery. The family received friends 
from 7 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
