MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Oscar Vernon Coulter Jr., 4 Apr 2005

SPRUCE PINE - Oscar Vernon Coulter Jr., 71, of the Deer Park community, died
Monday, April 4, 2005 at his home. He was the son of the late Oscar Vernon
Coulter Sr. and Edna Lassiter Coulter, and husband of the late Dorothy Marlowe
Coulter. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was retired from Mitchell County as a water
system supervisor. He was a member of Spruce Pine United Methodist church and
the Spruce Pine Rotary Club.

Survivors include a son, Vernon Coulter III of the home; and his mother-in-
law, Edith Marlowe of Spruce Pine. 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Spruce Pine United Methodist
Church. Rev. Larry Greene and Tracy Carroll officiated. Burial was in Spruce
Pine Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 10 a.m. until the
service hour at the church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge of
arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Mitchell County,
P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777; or to Spruce Pine United Methodist Church,
11090 Hwy. 226 South, Spruce Pine, NC 28777
