GENEVA CARPENTER

SPRUCE PINE
Geneva “Sis” Carpenter, 72, formerly of the Altapass community, died Friday, 
July 27, 2001 in an Erwin, TN nursing home following an extended illness. She 
was the daughter of the late R.B. and Mamie Buchanan Biddix, and the wife of 
the late Ernest Carpenter. She was a homemaker and a member of Berry Chapel 
Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda McKinney of Erwin, TN, a sister, Mary 
Sparks of Spruce Pine; brothers, Boyd and Arthur Biddix, both of Spruce Pine; 
two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in Berry Chapel Cemetery. Rev. 
Shane Brunner officiated.  The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at 
Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.
