J.D. DAVIS 

BAKERSVILLE - J.D. Davis, 79, of Beans Creek Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 
his home. He was the son of the late John and Mary Gilley Davis, and husband 
of the late Viola Butler Davis. He was also preceded in death by two brothers 
and five sisters.

Survivors include four daughters, Juanita Vance of Unicoi, Tenn., Kathy 
Baublitz of Flag Pond, Tenn., Barbara Massenghale of Marion, and Diane Miller 
of Erwin, Tenn.; four sons, Larry, Steve and David Davis, all of Bakersville, 
and Danny Davis of Jonesborgh, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great 
grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Marvin Silvers and Ronnie Whitson 
officiated. Burial was at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mitchell Butler Cemetery. The 
family received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Friday at the 
funeral home.
