CHARLES WILLIAM DUNCAN 

GASTONIA - Charles William (Bill) Duncan, of Lowell Bethesda Road, died Sunday, 
Jan. 29, 2006 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A native of Mitchell County, he was 
the son of the late France Dock and Sally Norman Duncan. He was a member of the 
Vespers Lodge, AF&AM in Spruce Pine.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Norman Duncan of the home; three sons, 
Terry Duncan of Marion, Larry Duncan of Norfolk, VA, and Roger Duncan of 
Belmont; two daughters, Gayle Burleson of Belmont, and Donna Duncan of 
Charlotte; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church in 
Belmont. Rev. Lynwood Lavinder officiated. Burial followed in the church 
cemetery with Masonic rites. The family received friends from 1:15-2:45 p.m. 
Wednesday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Friendship Baptist 
Church, South New Hope Road, Belmont, NC 28012. McLean Funeral Directors of 
Belmont was in charge of arrangements.
