SUE FLORA DALE

BANNER ELK – Sue Flora Dale, 79, of the Grassy Creek community, died Tuesday,
July 17, 2001 in a Banner Elk nursing facility. A native of Mitchell County,
she was the daughter of the late Carl Lindsey and Maude Washburn Dale. She was
also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Roy and Hal Dale; and a
sister, Alice Mae Dale. She was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church, where
she served as church clerk and a Sunday School teacher. She was employed for
many years at the Spruce Pine Store Company, McCall's and Catos. Survivors
include three brothers, Gene and Gus Dale, both of Marion, and Rev. Sam Dale
of Spruce Pine; a sister, Eloise Dale of Banner Elk; and several nieces and
nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Grindstaff
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Sam Dale, Wesley
Dale and B.G. McMahan officiated. Burial was in the Grassy Creek Baptist
Church Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service.
