GERTRUDE MARY GUNTER DALE
KINGSPORT – Gertrude Mary Gunter Dale, a native of Spruce Pine, died 
Thursday, May 9, 2002 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, 
TN. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Gunter. She was 
also preceded in death by three sisters, Pearl Braswell, Hazel Bartlett 
and Ruth Wilson; and three brothers, Roy, Carl and Donald Gunter. 
A homemaker, she was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church, having served 
as a Sunday School teacher and chairman of the church Decorating Committee.
Survivors include her husband, Jack E. Dale of the home; sister, Patsy 
Noblitt of Kings Mountain; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Webb Funeral Home in 
Spruce Pine. Revs. Jim Lindsey and Sam Dale officiated. Entombment was 
in the Spruce Pine Mausoleum. The family received friends from 10 a.m. 
until the service hour on Saturday.
