MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES -  Lee Thomas Dale, 5 Mar 2005

LINVILLE - Lee Thomas Dale, 83, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at his home. A
native of Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Lessie Dale,
and husband of the late Thelma Louise Dale. He was also preceded in death by a
daughter, Patricia Ann Dale. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was in the
golf cart leasing and repair business, as well as a master woodworker at
Penland School of Crafts and a chef. He attended Linville Evangelical
Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Hartley of High Point; sisters, Charlie
Mae Sproles of Spruce Pine, and Mary Efird of Matthews; brothers, Frank Dale
of Charlotte, Ted Dale of North Lauderdale, FL, Harold Dale of Charlotte, and
Burl Dale of Boynton Beach, FL; three grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Linvile Evangelical Methodist
Church. Rev. Ken Harper officiated. Military graveside rites by the Pat Ray
VFW Post and burial followed in Tanglewood Cemetery. The family received
friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
