CLAUDE DAVIS

BAKERSVILLE - Claude Davis, 86, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at 
James H. Quillen VA Hospital in Johnson City, TN. He was the 
son of the late John and Mary Gilley Davis, and husband of 
the late Faye Thomas Davis. A member of Friendship Baptist 
Church, he was a veteran of WWII and a retired furniture 
worker.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Butler of Bakersville, 
and Connie Silver and Jancie Hatley, both of Johnson City; 
two sons, Lawrence and Jimmy Davis, both of Bakersville; 
one sister, Nora Slater of Sterling Heights, MI; one brother, 
J.D. Davis of Bakersville; 11 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist 
Church. Rev. Bob McKinney officiated. Burial followed in 
Garland Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. 
at Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville.
