SPENCER GARFIELD DOWELL 

BAKERSVILLE – Spencer Garfield Dowell, 85, of Harrell Hill Road, died April 
10, 2001. He was the son of the late Ed and Arlena Price Dowell. A member of 
Rockdale Baptist Church, he was a machine operator retired from Henredon 
Furniture Company. 

Survivors include his wife, Florence Forbes Dowell of the home; four 
daughters, Lois Gwin and Wanda Dowell of Marion, VA, Sharon Gregory of Johnson 
City, TN, and Donna Hall of Blountville, TN; two sons, Roger Dowell of 
Morristown, TN, and Donald Dowell of Bakersville; two sisters, Madge Mills of
Hamilton, OH, and Geneva Levering of Cherryville, PA; three brothers, Fred 
Dowell of Mtn. City, TN, Robert Dowell of Hamilton, OH, and Junior Dowell of 
Nevada; 11 grandchildren; and siz great grandchildren.
