MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - James "Jim" Adam Duncan, 20 Aug 2001 JAMES ADAM DUNCAN DECATUR, AL – James "Jim" Adam Duncan, 79, died Monday, August 20, 2001 in Savannah, GA. A native of Spruce Pine, he was the son of the late John and Mary Burleson Duncan. After serving in the U.S. Army during WWII, he managed or owned many theaters in the region, including theaters in Spruce Pine and Burnsville. He was the owner of Cinema Equipment and Concession Supply, Inc. in Decatur, AL. President of the Decatur Kiwanis Club, he served many years on the boards of the Salvation and Central United Methodist Church. He taught Sunday School and was treasurer of the Good Fellowship Sunday School class. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Ollis Duncan of the home; a daughter, Cathy Duncan Wahl of Decatur; a son, James Robert Duncan of Decatur; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held August 23 at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church. Revs. Mitchell Williams and John Clotfelter officiated. Burial followed in Roselawn Cemetery.
