FRANK JAMES DUNCAN
BAKERSVILLE – Frank James Duncan, 71, of Duncan Loop in the Ledger community, 
died Sunday, February 17, 2002 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He was the 
son of the late Carroll and Jennie Willis Duncan. He was a member of Bear 
Creek Baptist Church and was employed by Underwood & Weld Trucking Company of 
Spruce Pine.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Lee Green Duncan of the home; a son, Johnny 
Duncan of Bakersville; two daughters, Darlene Greene and Lou Ellen Rathburn, 
both of Bakersville; two brothers, Joe Duncan of Las Vegas, NV, and Lewis 
Duncan of Spruce Pine; one sister, Jean Silver of Bakersville; six 
grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bear Creek Baptist Church. 
Revs. Chris Rathbone and Max Holland officiated. Entombment was in Bear Creek 
Mausoleum. The family received friends from 6-7 p.m. prior to the service at 
the church.
