MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Donald Herman Duncan, 23 Mar 2004

SPRUCE PINE - Donald Herman Duncan, 75, of Jacksontown Road, died 
Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at his home. He was the son of the late Herman 
and Cara Biddix Duncan. He was also preceded in death by a sister, 
Oveda Josephine Woody. He was a member of Berry Chapel Baptist Church, 
where he had served as deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was retired 
from J.M. Huber Company and held two U.S. patents in the mining industry.

Survivors include his wife, Brittie Cabe Duncan of the home; a son, Eddie 
Duncan of Spruce Pine; a brother, Dayton Duncan of Spruce Pine; and two 
grandsons. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Berry Chapel Baptist 
Church. Rev. Greg Hollifield officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. 
The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Webb Funeral Home 
in Spruce Pine
