She was the daughter of the late Dove and Nora Hughes Cooper, and wife of the late Ralph Ensor. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Howell, and a son, R.D. Ensor. She was a member of Brummitt's Creek Church of the Brethren. Survivors include her daughters, Adean Johnson of Forest City, Carlean Grindstaff of Bakersville, Joan Watts of Newland, and Jessie Rejoice Shuller of Ft. Colins, CO; sons, Ricky Ensor of Spruce Pine, and Ralph Ensor, Jr. of Elizabethton, TN; sisters, Savannah Peterson of Johnson City, TN, Ida Morell of Morganton, Dove Ann Tapp of Burnsville, and Mary Cooper; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Gerald Grindstaff and Howard Buchanan officiated. Burial was in Silver Chapel Cemetery at 10 a.m. Friday. The family received friend from 6 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
