DORTHEY FAYE FORBES 
 
BAKERSVILLE - Dorthey Faye Forbes, 92, of Upper Cub Creek Road, died 
Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Brian Center Healthcare in Spruce Pine. She was 
the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Emma Houston Rolland, and wife of 
the late Holden Forbes. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vera 
Azaline Edwards.

Survivors include daughter, Velma Magdalene Hughes; three grandchildren; five 
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Darryl Tipton officiated. Burial followed in 
Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from noon 
until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home.
