MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Howard Freeman, 15 Jul 2004

SPRUCE PINE - Howard Freeman, 70, of Freeman Lane, died Thursday, 
July 15, 2004 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He was the son of 
the late John and Annabelle Franklin Freeman. He was a shrubberyman 
and a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Clark Freeman; daughters, Penny 
Hensley and Teresa Freeman, both ofSpruce Pine; sons, Howard Freeman 
Jr. of Australia, and David Allen Freeman of Korea; brothers, Richard 
and Joe Freeman, both of Spruce Pine; and four grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Grindstaff 
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Rev. Nathan Silver officiated. 
Burial was at 2 p.m. Sunday in Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery. 
The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Saturday 
at the funeral home.
