MALONE GARLAND 

BAKERSVILLE - Malone Garland, 89, of White Oak Road, died Monday, June 12, 
2006 in Carroll County, MD. He was the son of the late Garrett and Mary Greene 
Garland. He was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Garland; a brother, Roy 
Garland; and two sisters, Viola Masters and Nellie Yelton. He was an U.S. Army 
veteran of WWII. He was a crane operator, and later moved back to Bakersville 
to farm.

Survivors include three brothers, Ernest and Cecil Garland, both of Johnson 
City, TN, and Nattie Garland of Glen Rock, PA; three sisters, Fairy Mae Carver 
of York, PA, Hazel Stevens of Bakersville, and Shirley Yelton of Finksburg, 
MD; and two granddaughters. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. G.B. Garland and Cecil Garland officiated. 
Burial was in Greene-Garland Cemetery. The family received friends from noon 
until the service hour at the funeral home.
