RALPH GARLAND 

BAKERSVILLE - Ralph Garland, 73, of Hillside Drive, died Friday, May 18, 2007 
in an Asheville hospital. He was the son of the late Pearl Hart. He was also 
preceded in death by a son, Ralph Garland Jr. He attended Beans Creek Church 
of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Faye Garland of the home; three daughters, 
Ruth Wentz of Bakersville, and Ruby Garland and Rita Garland, both of 
Carlisle, Pa.; one brother, Arthur Doc Garland of Jonesboro; and several 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. G.B. Garland and Larry Garland officiated. Burial 
was at 11 a.m. Monday in Beans Creek Cemetery. The family received friends 
from 6 p.m. until the service hour Sunday at the funeral home.
