GLEN ALPINE - Margaret Louise Gouge, 75, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2005 at her
home. She was the daughter of the late Green and Roberta Wiseman Woody, and
wife of the late Robert Gordon Gouge. She was also preceded in death by a
sister, Shirley Buchanan; and a brother, Robert Woody. She was a member of
McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Murphy of Glen Alpine; two sons, Robert
Carlton Gouge and Charles Gouge, both of Glen Alpine; two sisters, Mable
Wiseman of Spruce Pine, and Virginia Curtis of Glen Alpine; brothers,
Lawrence, Billy, Casey and Tylie Woody, all of Spruce Pine, and Scott Woody of
Morganton; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Grindstaff Memorial
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Carswell officiated. Burial was in
Whites Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at
the funeral home.
