BILL W. GOUGE 

BAKERSVILLE - Bill W. Gouge, 87, of Hwy. 226, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007. He 
was the son of the late Lillington and Bessie Canipe Gouge, and husband of the 
late Beatrice Young Gouge. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, 
Kathleen Garland. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a deacon and 
Sunday School teacher at Cub Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Royce Gouge of Clemmons; a daughter, Karen Greene 
of Bakersville; one sister, Daisey Harrell of Virginia; two brothers, Thomas 
Gouge of Gray, Tenn., and Harry Gouge of Johnson City, Tenn.; three 
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. The Rev. Billy Stewart officiated. Burial 
followed in Malone Gouge Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. 
until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.
