JOSSIE HUGHES GRIFFITH 

HICKORY - Jossie Hughes Griffith, 87, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005. She was the 
daughter of the late Grover and Martha Warrick Hughes, and wife of the late 
Troy Griffith. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Chester and Gaylon 
Griffith.

Survivors include five daughters, Madeline Griffith of Valdese, Edna Huffman 
and Daisy Hoilman, both of Hickory, Carolyn Babbs of Elizabethton, TN, and 
Vickie Poole of Four Oaks; five sons, Lee Griffith of Westminster, MD, Jim 
Griffith of Hickory, Larry Griffith of Monks Corner, SC, Ricky Griffith of 
Johnson City, TN, and Randy Griffith of Taylorsville; 18 grandchildren; and 23 
great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. Larry Greene officiated. Burial was in Murphy 
Cemetery on White Oak Flats. The family received friends from noon until the 
service hour at the funeral home.
