WILLIAM GOFORTH

SPRUCE PINE - William Goforth, 88, of Sevierville, TN, formerly 
of Spruce Pine, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002. He was the son of the 
late Merit and Lula Thacker Goforth. He was also preceded in death 
by four sisters. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Townsend Goforth of the home; 
daughter, Carolyn Leonard of Sevierville, TN; sons, Billl Goforth 
Jr. of Westerville, OH, and Charles Goforth of Oklahoma City, OK; 
a sister, Margaret McMahan of Glenwood; seven grandchildren; one 
step-son; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bethel Missionary 
Baptist church. Revs. Luther Carver and Darrin Waldroup officiated. 
Burial was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 
1 p.m. until the service hour Wednesday at the church.
