RUTH BUCHANAN GOSNOLD
GARDEN LAKES, GA – Ruth Lenora Buchanan Gosnold, 83, died Monday, April 
1, 2002 following a lengthy illness. A native of Spruce Pine, she was 
the daughter of the late Henry R. and Nellie Buchanan. She was also 
preceded in death by three brothers, Rupert Ray and Harry Buchanan; and 
two sisters, Revis Buchanan and Ruby Tudor. She was a Presbyterian and 
a graduate of Lees-McRae College.
Survivors include her husband, William David Gosnold, Sr.; three sons, 
Will Gosnold Jr. of Grand Forks, ND, Charles H. Gosnold of Providence, 
RI, and Rick Gosnold of Rome, GA; two brothers, Henry F. Buchanan of 
Old Ford, and Russell Buchanan of Rockport, WA; six grandchildren; and 
two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at West Oak Chapel Funeral 
Home. Her granddaughter, Laura Gosnold and Rev. Bill Adams officiated. 
Private burial services will be held at a later date. The family received 
friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may
