MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Ann Barnett Gouge, 4 Feb 2004

GREEN MOUNTAIN - Ann Barnett Gouge, 84, of Pigeon Roost Road, died 
Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was 
the daughter of the late Solomon and Vickie Griffith Barnett, and 
wife of the late Carlos Gouge. She was also preceded in death by a 
son, Edward Gouge. She was a member of The Fundamental Brethren 
Church of Pigeon Roost.

Survivors include daughters, Norma Faye Peterson, Undean Murphy and 
Audrey Burleson, all of Green Mountain, and Lois Jimeson of Spruce 
Pine; sisters, Mae Hughes of Green Mountain, and Nell Branch of Spruce 
Pine; a brother, Iss Barnett of Erwin, TN; 10 grandchildren; and 16 
great grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Jerry Barnett, Ronnie Gouge 
and Marvin Silver officiated. Burial was at 1 p.m. Saturday in Byrd 
Creek Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the 
service hour at the funeral home.
