WOODROW JENNINGS GREENE
BAKERSVILLE – Woodrow Jennings Greene, 78, of Fred Sparks Road, died Saturday, 
April 21, 2001 at his home. He was the son of the late Earl and Estelle 
Buchanan Greene. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Kate 
Dellinger Green, and a sister, Zola Young. He was retired from Radio Shack, 
where he was employed as a salesman.  Survivors include his wife, Louise Baker 
Greene of the home; son, Russell Greene of Bakersville; brother, Joe Greene of 
Bakersville; sister, Dorothy Buchanan of Charlotte; one granddaughter; several
step children; and one nephew.
Funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Larry Greene and Travis Newton officiated. 
Burial was Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Cemetery in Bakersville. The 
family received friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:30 until the service 
hour. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box
