DOROTHY “DOT” GREENE
SPRUCE PINE – Dorothy “Dot” Greene, 94, died Saturday, June 8, 2002 in 
the Brian Center in Spruce Pine. She was the daughter of the late Grant 
and Melissa Cox Davis, and wife of the late Earl Greene. She was also 
preceded in death by three brothers, John, Charlie and Furman Davis. She 
was a member of Berry Chapel Baptist Church and former owner of Dot’s CafÈ.
Survivors include a son, Don Greene of Robbinsville; one sister, Delphia 
Renfro of the Crabtree community; five grandchildren; eight great 
grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Grindstaff Memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Dallas Renfro, B.G. 
McMahan and R.M. Cassity officiated. Burial was in Phillips Cemetery. 
The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the 
funeral home.
