ALMA BRIGGS GRIFFITH 
BAKERSVILLE – Alma Briggs Griffith, 89, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002 in 
Greenville, TN. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Fuchsia English 
Briggs. She was a member of Tipton Hill Methodist Church and a retired 
teacher from Yancey and Mitchell County Schools. She was preceded in death 
by her husband, Park H. Griffith.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Griffith Mitchell of Greenville TN; 
two grandsons; and three great grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral 
Home in Bakersville. Rev. Paul Bennett officiated. The family received 
friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour. Burial followed in Pleasant 
Grove Cemetery in Bakersville. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s 
Hospital, P.O. Box 318, Memphis, TN 3870. or Greenville-Greene County Humane 
Society, Hal Hena Rd. Greenville, TN 37743.
