MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Flora Irene Griffith, 6 Mar 2004

GREEN MOUNTAIN - Flora Irene Griffith, 91, of Pigeon Roost Road, died 
Saturday, Mar. 6, 2004 at Brian Center Healthcare in Spruce Pine. She 
was the daughter of the late Chriss and Hulda Edwards Barnette, and 
wife of the late Oscar Giffith. She was also preceded in death by two 
brothers, J.C. and Jack Barnette; and one sister, Trula Young. She 
attended Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Roger Griffith of Cochranbelle, PA; one brother, 
Richard Barnette of Elkton, MD; two grandchildren; and four great 
grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. Jerry Barnette officiated. Burial followed 
in Byrd Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service 
hour at the funeral home.
