He was the son of the late Audie and Dana Ledford Grindstaff. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Ray Grindstaff. A member of Snow Hill Baptist Church, he was a motor grader operator for the N.C. Department of Transportation. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Stamey Grindstaff. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funreal Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Larry Greene and Gerald Grindstaff officiated. Burial followed in Snow Hill Cemetery. The family received friends from 1:30-2:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.
