LELA GRINDSTAFF

BAKERSVILLE - Lela Grindstaff, 84, of the Snow Creek community, died 
Thursday, Mar. 13, 2003 in a Spruce Pine rest home. She was the daughter 
of the late Squib and Bunia Grindstaff. She was also preceded in death by 
a sister, Mae Goode; and brothers, Mack, Andrew and Everett Grindstaff. 
She was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sisters, Pansy Willis of Bakersville, Savannah 
Smith of Marion, Mattie Whitney of Morganton, Alice Scarllett of 
Thomasville, and Ethel Young of Burnsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Grindstaff Memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Rev. Gerald Grindstaff 
officiated. Burial was in Lily Branch Cemetery.
