RUTH GRINDSTAFF

BAKERSVILLE - Ruth Grindstaff, 86, of Roses Branch, died Tuesday, Aug. 
26, 2003 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the 
late Jessie and Venie Grindstaff Burleson, and wife of the late Avery 
Junior Grindstaff. She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Ray 
Grindstaff.
Survivors include sons, Roy and Ronnie Grindstaff; brothers, Paul, James 
and Frank Burleson; sisters, Edith Wyke, Mary Hughes, Bert Buchanan; four 
grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 12 noon Friday at Silvers Chapel Baptist 
Church. Revs. Lee Ayers and Gerald Grindstaff officiated. Burial followed 
in the church cemetery. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home was in charge of 
arrangements.
