LILLIE GOUGE HARRIS 

MARION - Lillie Gouge Harris, 89, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Sunrise Rehab. 
and Care Center. Born in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late 
William Woodward Gouge and Mary Eugenia Smith Gouge, and wife of the late 
Charles Forbes and Henry Harris. She was also preceded in death by two 
sisters, Eula Suttles and Queenie Good; and seven brothers, L.D., Lindsay, 
Carl, Charlie "Red", Robert, Fred and Sherrill Gouge. She had worked for 
Woody's Chair Shop for many years and was active at the McDowell Senior 
Center. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include Max Gouge of Spruce Pine; J.B. Suttles of Nebo; and several 
other nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Westmoreland 
Funeral Home. The Revs. Justin Deaton and Jack Ward officiated. Burial was in 
Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. 
until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be 
made to Gideon's International, P.O. Box 611, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
