MINNIE WEBB HOILMAN 

BAKERSVILLE - Minnie Webb Hoilman, 99, of Minnie Lane, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 
2008 at Brian Center Healthcare in Spruce Pine. She was the daughter of the 
late Walter Lee and Mollie Bowman Webb, and wife of the late Claude Hoilman. 
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Dr. Melvin Webb and Martin Webb; 
five sisters, Thelma Greene, Grace Gortney, Georgia Parsons, Lillian Conley, 
and Mable Byrd; children, Kenneth Guy Hoilman, Beulah Kate, Grover E. Hoilman, 
Claude Hoilman Jr.; and a grandson, David Max Greene. She was the oldest 
member of Cub Creek Baptist Church and attended Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Lena Garland, Maxine Greene, and Martha 
Johnson, all of Bakersville, and Georgia Elkins of Monkton Md.; sisters, Toby 
Forbes, of Kingsport, Tenn., and Claudia Gouge of Bakersville; 13 
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. The Revs. Bob McKinney, Billy Stewart, and 
Kenneth Murphy officiated. Burial followed in Phillips Cemetery on Highway 
226. The family received friends from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour Sunday 
at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Friendship Baptist
