WILLIAM BUCHANAN HOLLIFIELD 

COLUMBUS, GA - William (Bill) Buchanan Hollifield, 76, formerly of Little 
Switzerland, died Sunday, May 28, 2006 in a Columbus Hospice facility. He was 
the son of the late Manley and Effie Buchanan Hollifield. He was a U.S. Air 
Force veteran and worked for the Georgia State Patrol for 20 years. He was a 
member of Morningside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nona Hollifield of the home; a daughter, Sharon 
Denise Dyer of Columbus; a son, Michael Stephen Hollifield of Atlanta, GA; 
brothers, Frank Hollifield of Little Switzerland, and Tom Hollifield of Spruce 
Pine; and two grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Grindstaff Memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Burial followed in Burnette Cemetery. The family 
received friends from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour Saturday.
