SUSIE MAE CANADAY HOLLIFIELD 

SPRUCE PINE - Susie Mae Canaday Hollifield, 87, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007. 
Born in Kinston, she was the daughter of the late Z.L. and Myrtie Koonce 
Canaday, and wife of the late Fred D. Hollifield Sr. She had been employed 
with Robbins Knitting Mill and was a member of First Baptist Church of Spruce 
Pine.

Survivors include a son, Fred D. Hollifield Jr.; and two grandsons, Chad and 
Christopher Hollifield. 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Dr. 
David Vess officiated. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at 
Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Memorial donations may be made to First 
Baptist Church Building Fund, 125 Tappan Street, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
