MADGE P. HOLTSCLAW 

SPRUCE PINE - Madge Pittman Holtsclaw, 88, of Bridgeview Road, died Friday, 
Sept. 1, 2006 at Hospice House in Forest City. She was the daughter of the 
late Charlie and Fleeta Burleson Pittman, and wife of the late Clyde 
Holtsclaw. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers, two sisters, and 
one granddaughter. She attended Pine Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Pendley of Spruce Pine; two sisters, 
Eva Dunn and Mattie Pittman, both of Spruce Pine; one grandson; and two great 
grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce 
Pine. Revs. Steve Williams and Brandon Pittman officiated. Burial was at 11 
a.m. Monday at Pine Branch Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. 
until the service hour at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to 
Hospice House, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC.
