MAMIE GILLEY HONEYCUTT 

BAKERSVILLE - Mamie Gilley Honeycutt, 87, of Sierra Drive, died Thursday, 
April 27, 2006 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Monroe and Lila 
Gilley Edwards, and wife of the late Robert Honeycutt. She was also preceded 
in death by a daughter, Doris Franklin; and a stepdaughter, Cora Bailey.

Survivors include her daughters, Lois Yelton of Unicoi, TN, Eloise Davis of 
Bakersville, and Ella Mae Silvers of Spruce Pine; sons, Sid, Harris and Ray 
Honeycutt, all of Bakersville, and Willard Honeycutt of Lenoir; one sister, 
Georgia Edwards of Maryland; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Edwards, both of 
Bakersville; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Gerald Grindstaff and Marvin Silvers 
officiated. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bennett Cemetery 
on Pigeon Roost Road. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the 
service hour Saturday at the funeral home.
