TASSIE LEDFORD HUTCHINS 

NEBO - Tassie Ledford Hutchins, 93, died Thursday, April 12, 2007. A native of 
Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maggie 
Grindstaff Ledford, and wife of the late Dewey E. Hutchins. She was also 
preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence Ray Hutchins and Clarence E. Hutchins. 
She was a homemaker and member of Dysartsville Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Bledsoe and Evelyn Rose, both of 
Nebo, and Verda Newton of Forest City; a son, Rev. Harold Hutchins of Ponco 
City, Okla.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces 
and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Big Crabtree Baptist Church. 
The Revs. Lloyd Harris and Harold Hutchins officiated. Burial followed in the 
church cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Webb 
Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.
