He was the son of the late Dock and Sallie Blalock Henline, and husband of the late Gertrude Henline. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Henline. A member and deacon of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, he was also a member of Vesper Lodge 554 AF & AM and the Oasis Shrine. Survivors include his wife, Naomi Buchanan Henline; daughter, Phyllis Gaskins of Johnson City, TN; sons, Wayne, Frank and Gerald Henline, all of Spruce Pine; step daughters, Jo McClellan of Morganton and Nina Black of Hickory; sisters, Maude Young of Spruce Pine, Louise Stanberry of Boone, and Brite Lyons of Christianburg, VA; brother, Bill Henline of Spruce Pine; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Revs. Harold Grindstaff and R.M. Cassity officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.
