MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Naomi Henline, 31 Dec 2003

SPRUCE PINE - Naomi Henline, 86, of the Beaver Creek community, 
died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. 
She was the daughter of the late Merritt and Elizabeth Miller Sparks 
Sr., and wife of the late W.K. Buchanan and the late Bascomb Henline. 
She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan McClellan of Glen Alpine, and 
Nina Black of Hickory; sisters, Vessie Willis and Emma Lee Buchanan, 
both of Bakersville; a brother, Merritt Sparks Jr. of Raleigh; a 
stepdaughter, Phyllis Gaskins of Johnson City, TN; stepsons, Wayne, 
Frank and Gerald Henline, all of Spruce Pine; four grandchildren; 
five great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and nieces 
and nephews. 
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Carmel Baptist 
Church. Revs. Mike Brown and Nathan Silver officiated. Burial was in 
Bear Creek Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday 
at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.
